Ionia Daily Sentinel - Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1917

Joseph Curtiss, a highly respected pioneer of Easton township, passed away 
Sunday evening at the age of 83 years, at the home of his son, Harry E. Curtiss 
of Easton. He leaves three other children, Seymour and Melvin Curtiss of Grand 
Rapids, and Mrs. W.W. Bemis of Ionia. Mrs. Curtis died about six months ago. 
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock at the home and 2 o'clock at the 
Easton church, Wednesday afternoon.
