March 1, 2020 Excerpts from Obituary: Barbara Faye Curtiss Died February 26, 2020-age 80 Born July 13, 1939 at rural Paris, Tennessee. Moved to Detroit in 1945. Daughter of Roland & Katherine Easley. Graduated Nursing School as an RN at Highland Park General hospital in 1960. Met husband Jean Spencer Curtiss in 1961, while in Traverse city interning. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Sarah Joy Curtiss & brother, Roland G. Easley. Survived by her children, Alan S. (Johanna) Curtiss of South Carolina, and Jonathan P. (Kathleen) Curtiss of Michigan, 4 grandsons, Caleb, Joshua & Matthew (Rebecca) Curtiss, & Joe Hinds, great-grandchildren Grayson, Kaden, & Reagan Curtiss, Alex & Rowan Hinds, brothers & sister-in-laws, Donald & Karen Rynearson, Gary & Marlene Curtiss, brother Carroll E.(Nancy)Easley, several nieces & nephews & cousins. Earned her Bachelor's Degree in Critical Nursing from Western Michigan Univ. Retired from Spectrum Health (Butterworth) Hospital in 2005. Barbara was devoted to her Lord, her husband of 54 years, her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. Visitation at the First Evangelical Covenant Church, 1933 Tremont Blvd. NW, Grand Rapids Sat. at 10 a.m. March 7th, 2020 following by a Memorial service at 11 a.m., & luncheon afterwards.
