Funeral services for Mrs. Maybelle Chapman Cusack of Detroit, who was 
instantly killed in an auto collision Sunday, July 25 while en route to visit 
her mother, Mrs. Myra Merritt, at Long lake for the weekend, were held from 
the home of her brother, Miles Merritt who lives on a farm adjoining Long 
lake, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

Services were read by Dr. Paul L. Stewart of Ionia and interment was at 
Highland Park cemetery.  Bearers were Arthur VanDoren, J. Fred Fischer, Gordon 
Fischer, Robert O. Fischer, John Picthall and Herbert Osterhout.

Mrs. Cusack was formerly Maybelle Merritt of Ionia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
E. W. Merritt.  She was born in Ionia and spent her early life here, and 
attended the Ionia schools.  For several years she has been teaching night 
school and at the time of her death was teaching at Cass Tech in Detroit.

She is survived by her husband, John J. Cusack, to whom she was married two 
years ago, and two sons, Merritt Lee Chapman and Windsor Robert Chapman.

Fischer of Detroit, Gordon Fischer of East Lansing, Robert Fischer of Detroit, 
Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Chapman of Detroit, W. R. Chapman of Detroit, Miss Gloria 
Waymire of Detroit; Mrs. Roy P. Phelps of Marion, Ohio, Miss Eleanor Heth and 
Mrs. Margaret Heth of Detroit.
