Oct. 30, 2012 Hubbardston- Richard "Dick" Cusack, age 86, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Carson City Hospital. Dick was born January 14, 1926 in Hubbardston the son of Eddie and Minnie (Kane) Cusack. He graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic High School. Dick married Florence Helms in 1945 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Parish, serving on the parish council and as an instructor in the Religious Education Program. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Dick was an active community volunteer as a little league baseball coach, a volunteer firefighter, village board member and Catholic and public school board member. He retired from Motor Wheel Corporation after 40 years of service. He was proud of his Irish heritage and will be remembered as a great story teller. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence, children Jeanne (Roy) Berry, Mary Jo (LaDell) Goodroad, Fred (Peggy) Cusack, Charlie (Sharon) Cusack, Patty (Chris) Howlett, Larry (Cindy) Cusack, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, sister Angela and brothers Manuel, Fr. Jim and Donald Cusack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Weber officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City with a Rosary Service at 7:30 and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fr. Jim Cusack/St. John the Baptist Scholarship Fund.
