May 31,1978 MANUEL W. CUSACK HUBBARDSTON - Funeral services for Manuel W. Cusack, 59, of 348 Pearl street, Hubbardston, were held Tuesday morning from St. John the Baptist church. He died Saturday of a heart attack while playing golf in Crystal. Celebrating the consolidated high mass Tuesday were: Rev. Fr. James Cusack of Rockford, a brother of Manuel; Rev. Fr. Eugene R. Fox of Hubbardston; Rev. Fr. Bernard J. Schafer of Muskegon; Rev. Fr. John W.McGee of Ada; Rev. Fr. John A. Najowski of Grand Haven; Rev. Fr.Louis Baudone of Portland; Rev. Fr. Max Schmidt of Westphalia; Rev. Fr. Bernard Beahan of Fowler; Rev. Fr. Henry Dondzila of Ionia; and Monsignor Charles W. Brophy of Grand Rapids. Manuel Cusack was born in North Plains township June 4, 1918, the son of Edward and Minerva Kane Cusack. He was employed by Fisher Body in Lansing for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Boomer, to whom he was married on November 22, 1941. Also surviving are eight children; Stanley of Muir, Mrs. Connie Molek of Hubbardston, Carol of Hubbardston, Douglas of Westphalia, Virginia of Hubbardston, Vivian of Carson City, and Christopher and Brenda, both at home. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard of Hubbardston, and Rev. Fr. James, and one sister, Mrs. Angela Lipe of Flint, and ten grandchildren. Military funeral services were conducted under the auspices of the Walter T. Roach American Legion Post 182 of Hubbardston. Bearers were Clifford O'Grady, Raymond Donahue, Howard Worthman, Robert Blakeslee, Verl McCuaig, and Richard Koslaski. Interment was in St. Johns the Baptist cemetery. Lunch was served after the services at the parish family center for family and friends.
