Nov. 16, 2018 PATRICK CUSACK,,98 Patrick Q. Cusick, 98 of Manistee, MI., formerly Hubbardston, MI. passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 6, 2018. Patrick was born in Hubbardston, MI. on March 20, 1920 where he lived on the family farm for 94 years of his life. He was one of 14 children of Helen O'Connell & Charles Cusack. Patrick married Agnes V. McGrath on September 13, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hancock, MI.. Their marriage produced 10 children, 23 grandchildren & 6 great- grandchildren, Virginia (Scott) Pelton, Caitlin (Finley) & Conor Pelton; Kevin (Meg) Cusack, Jacob, Rachael (Joe) Ringenberg (Lux), Joan Bea, Alma), Joanie (Cale) Erickson, Leighton, Alex, Wilson (Hannah) (Asher, Ru) & Peter; Tim (Anne) Cusack, Isabel, & Malcolm; Paul (Lana) Cusack, Molly, Colin & Sara; Rosie Cusack;Rita Cusack, Sinead & Declan, McCann; Ted (Amanda) Cusack, Matthew, Joshua & Samuel; Martin (Elise) Cusack, Quintin, Aidan, Gabriel & Fiona. Daughter Ann Marie Cusack & son Dan (Eve) Cusack preceded him in death. He has one living sibling Dorothy McGrath of Houston, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, McKenna, O'Connell relatives & Faithful companion Lucky. Patrick was committed to his Catholic faith. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus & Elks. Patrick was a farmer, Real Estate Agent & Insurance Salesman. He was proud of his Irish Heritage visiting Ireland twice including a visit to the original Cusack Homestead. Patrick was many things including Reader (reading a whole book a day) Artist-taking classes into his 8o's, Wood worker-specializing in wood dowels & glue, and original Re-Purposer of wood & furniture treasures, Golfer, Hunter, Storyteller, Dancer, Skier both X-Country & downhill, Inventor-developing a sand sifting machine & selling sand bags from his property. Hew was known for his love of sweets, especially pie & chocolate. Patrick loved Native American lore & supported Tribal Reservations Schools. Agnes & Patrick travelled the country in their motor home after her retirement. They also loved cruises traveling all over the world making friends wherever they went. Prior to his 90th birthday he had been know as Quint, but to avoid any confusion at the Pearly Gates he has gone as Patrick in his later years. Family is thankful to Patrick's wonderful caregivers, Sara, Candy, Judy & Teresa. Funeral service will be held November 24, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church, Hubbardston, MI,. Visitation in Church 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.. Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. with Burial and Luncheon following. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. John the Baptist Church Parish Hall Fund, Hubbardston Historical Society or Fr. Jim Cusack Scholarship Fund. The Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee have been entrusted with arrangements.
