Cushing, 50, died in Sparrow hospital, Lansing, Saturday evening, January 18. He was the last of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cushing of Ionia. His boyhood was spent in Ionia where he attended high school and later McLachlan Davenport college in Grand Rapids. Mr. Cushing followed the mechanical trades and is credited with several inventions. He entered U.S. Army service in June 1918. He is survived by his widow, the former Kay Welch of Ionia, and one son, Donald, both of Lansing, where the family resided since 1925; and his father, Charles Cushing of Ionia. Funeral service was held in Lansing at one o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
