Cusick, 63, of 627 West Lincoln, died early Monday morning at Bronson Methodist hospital in Kalamazoo following a short illness. She was born in Fowler October 20, 1914, the daughter of Domine and Magdelena Fedewa Rochon. She moved to Grand Rapids and attended schools there, graduating from Grand Rapids Catholic Central high school. After graduation she was employed in the Grand Rapids office of Standard Oil Company. She married Thomas Cusick, September 7, 1935 in St. Thomas’ church in Grand Rapids and they moved to Ionia in 1943. Mrs. Cusick assisted in operating Tom’s Tackle shop until it was sold in 1969. They then spent winters in Brooksville, Florida. Mrs. Cusick was a former second ward councilwoman in the city of Ionia, a member of SS Peter and Paul church, the Rosary society and a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. Three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard of Laurel, Maryland and Michael of Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary Lou) Hartman of Ionia, Mrs. David (Susan) Weiers of Sanford and Mrs. Robert (Charlene) Evans of Portage; four brothers, Lloyd of Detroit, George and Cliff of Lansing and John of Hemet, California; three sisters, Mrs. Deloise LaFaive of Farmington Hills, Mrs. Hilary (Mary) Hafner of Fowler and Mrs. Frank (Rita) Christensen of Sparta; 13 grandchildren. Services are Thursday at 11 am from SS Peter and Paul church with Rev. Father Henry Dondzilla officiating. Burial is in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 pm in the Leddick funeral home. A memorial fund is established for the Ionia County unit of the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Tuesday 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
