The Ionia Standard, Friday, July 6, 1883

Hannah Custar, wife of B. F. Custar, died at her home in Berlin, Ionia county, 
Mich., June 15, 1883.  She was the daughter of Benj. Shilton, Esq., of Orange, 
and was born Aug. 4, 1859.  Has lived at her parents’ home until less than one 
year ago, when she was united in marriage to the now bereaved husband.  Their 
union was a very happy one, but alas, how soon the arrow of death cut asunder 
the strong ties that nothing but death could sever.

Her heart as well as her hand was given to the Wesleyan Methodist church of 
East Berlin, where her membership was only exchanged to the church triumphant 
in Heaven.  A large circle of friends deeply mourn her loss.  Her amiable 
disposition and faithful Christian life had won the esteem of all.

Services were held by the writer at the M. E. church in Orange.
