                DR. W. R. CUTLER, IONIA PIONEER, DIED SUNDAY

      Veteran Druggist Passes Away at Residence at Advanced Age of 86.

               WAS FIRST TO PRACITCE DENTISTRY IN THIS CITY.

      Funeral Will Be Tomorrow Afternoon at 2 o'clock at Residence

Dr. William R. Cutler, one of the county's pioneers and a former dentist and 
druggist here for many years, died at 6 o'clock Sunday morning at his 
residence, 245 E. Washington street. He was nearly 86 years of age.

Lima, New York, was Dr. Cutler's birthplace. He came to Ionia in 1857 and hence 
was identified with pioneer days of this city and was one of the few remaining 
early settlers of the community. He was probably the first man to practice 
professional dentistry in this city..

Dr. Cutler was a man of considerable prominence in county and state affairs. He 
was long a member of the American Dental association and Michigan Druggist 
association. 

Old friends to Dr. Cutler will remember him as a man of fast friends and 
purposes. He lived near friendships and great loyalty to the late Judge A. B. 
Morse and was a close friend of the distinguished jurist for years.

Mrs. Cutler preceded her husband in death by about 18 months. But two sons 
survive, John H. Cutler and Zene B. Cutler.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. 
Burial will take place in Highland Park cemetery in the family lot.
