Char was born September 9, 1953, in Ionia, the daughter of the late William and Mona (Luce) Walker. She was raised in Lake Odessa where she was a 1971 graduate of Lakewood High School. Char was a para professional for the Ionia County Intermediate School District for 30 years, retiring in 2005. Following the death of her first husband, Char became active in on-line grief recovery groups, including G.R.O.W.W. Later she helped start and organize H.A.L.O., where she helped many, and formed several great friendships. Char was united in marriage to her best friend, Chuck Cutting, on July 16, 2004. The spent their retirement in Oklahoma and Texas where they could spend time with family, and sail and bike together. Char’s happiest times were spoiling her grandchildren and telling others of their accomplishments. Her hobbies included sailing, biking, and crocheting. In addition to her husband Chuck, family members include, daughter, Autumn (John) McNeel of Keifer, OK; son, William (Jessi) Combs of Middleville; stepdaughters, Carmen (Jeff) Perry of Hastings, and Catina Cutting of Sapulpa, OK; brothers, William “Bill” (Tina) Walker of Lake Odessa, and Ed (Jen) Walker of Gladstone; grandchildren, Nicole and Caden McNeel of Keifer, OK, Robert, Charlie and Zackary Perry of Hastings, and Andrew Laiz of Sapulpa, OK. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Char’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the William Walker residence, 696 Lakeview Drive, Lake Odessa. Stories shared by family and friends will follow at 6 p.m. followed by closing prayers by Rev. George Speas.
