Clemens CEDAR SPRINGS, Jan 19 - Funeral services for the Rev. T. J. Clemens, 77, former Cedar Sprigs Wesleyan Methodist pastor, who died at his home in Ionia, will be held from the Blanchard funeral home here at 2:30 p. m. Thursday. The Rev. Mr. Clemens made his home in Cedar Springs for many years when serving as pastor of several Wesleyan Methodist churches in this vicinity. He was a minister in the church 44 years. He is survived only by his widow. Paper unknown Date January 19, 1935 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- FUNERAL OF REV. CLEMONS HERE Rev. T. J. Clemons, 77 father of Mrs. Henry Zank, passed away at the family home in Ionia Tuesday, January 19, following a short illness of influenza and pneumonio (sic). Rev. Clemmons (sic) was well known here, having formerly occupied the pulpit at the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Solon Center. He left here about 10 years ago, and had since served as a minister in the Nazarene denomination, and though retired from active ministry, he continued to preach until a short time before his illness. He was a fine Christian man, and respected by all who knew him. Mrs. Zank was called to Ionia several days ago, and was with her father when the end came. Mrs. Clemons is critically ill influenza and unable to attend the funeral, and unable to attend the funeral, which will be held at the Free Methodist Church in Cedar Springs Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Blanchard Funeral Home in charge. The widow, Clara; the daughter, Mrs. Zank and four grandchildren survive.
