Sentinel-Standard - Monday, May 1, 1956

LYONS- Stephen T. Dadd, 63, died Monday morning at 3 o'clock in Ionia County 
Memorial hospital, where he had been admitted Saturday. He was born January 10, 
1893 in New York state, the son of Stephen and Carrie Dadd and came to Michigan 
with his parents when he was a small child. He was married July 3, 1920 to Vera 
Sharp of North Plains township and they lived in Orleans and Muir before coming 
to Lyons 20 years ago.

He was a member of Lyons Masonic lodge, Ionia county barbershop chapter, was a 
trustee in the Lyons village council for a number of years and was custodian at 
Lyons Township high school. He was also a member of Evergreen chapter O.E.S. of 
Lyons. 

Surviving are his wife, Vera; two sons, Morris of Grand Rapids, and Neil of 
Lowell, two daughters, Mrs. Albert Herling of Grand Rapids, Miss Jean Dadd of 
Lyons; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Charles and Ray of Grand Rapids and 
Lester and Harold of Lansing, and two sisters, Mrs. George Mognant of Big 
Rapids and Mrs. Stanley Brooks of Saranac.

The body will be at the Shaw Rivett funeral home in Muir until time of funeral 
service which will be Wednesday afternoon, May 9 at 2 o'clock at Lyons 
Methodist church, with the Rev. Robert Watt officiating. Interment will be in 
Muir cemetery.
