LAITY PREACHED SERMON AND INTERMENT WAS MADE IN LAKESIDE CEMETERY --------- Miss Sarah Daggett, who has been one of the fixtures of Lake Odessa for all its history, passed away last Saturday at her home on north Fourth avenue. She was of a quiet peaceful disposition always tending to her own affairs, but always found associating herself with the best things of life. She was identified with the Woman's club, the Women's Christian Temperance union, aside from her membership in the Methodist Episcopal church and its departments to which place she was always faithful and loyal. She with her sister Mrs. Short, have been passionately fond of flowers and were for many years the sources of the floral decorations of their church and not for church only, but for many a sick bedside, illustrating the life of the deceased, --the quiet messenger of good cheer. Sarah Daggett was born in Watterville, Ohio, January 11, 1836. After the death of her parents she with her sister, who survives her, moved to New Haven, Conn., where they lived until 1888 when they came to Lake Odessa to live. In early life she was converted and joined the Congregational church, but on coming to this village she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church where she remains a loyal servant of her Master. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Emma Short, of this village, one sister-in-law Mrs. Emma Randel, in Texas and several nieces in Ohio and the eastern states. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Tuesday forenoon. Rev. Thomas Laity the pastor, preached. The singing was by the church choir and the body was laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery.
