Portland Observer – Wednesday 4 September 1889
Died – In this village on the 30th ult., of inflammation of the bowels, 
Mattie, wife of Anthony Dahl, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of this 
village, aged 17 years.  The funeral services were held at the Catholic church 
on Monday morning of this week, Rev. Fr. Koenig officiating and a large number 
of relative and friends following the remains to their last resting place in 
the Catholic cemetery.  They have our sympathy in their affliction.
