Geraldine Frances Edwards Daisley, aged 87, of Ionia, passed away July 13, 
2006 after an extended illness.  She was born November 14, 1918 in the village 
of Riverside, Steuben County, New York. She lived in the area until 1994 when 
she moved to Ionia, to be near her daughter Barbara.  “Gerry” graduated from 
Northside High School. She was a cook with the Corning City Schools for 29-and-
a-half years.

She is survived by her son Elwyn and Thelma of Sheridan, IN; daughters, Janet 
and Robert Beeman of Atlanta, IN and Barbara Howe and fiancé William Mackenzie 
of Ionia; sisters Wilma Moore and Leola Teije and special niece Shirley and 
Floyd Draper of Steuben County, N.Y.; grandchildren Robert and Mary Beeman, 
Brooke and Joe Ferrell, Brock and Lisa Beeman all of Indiana, Heather and Ken 
Archer of Atlanta, Ga., Christopher and Julie Daisley, Thelma and David 
Wallen, Wilbur and Cheryl Barrus, Elnora and Ronnie Crist all of Indiana; and 
Ian Howe of Rochester, N.Y. and 21 great grandchildren as well as one step 
great-great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her father and mother 
Lyman and Bertha (Winfield) Edwards, her beloved husband, John Brown Daisley, 
whom she married May 29, 1940; sisters Margaret Edwards, Loretta Kimball, 
Evelyn Strawser, Mildred Simons and Gertrude Lewis, brothers, Clifford Edwards 
and Walter Edwards and Grandson Alex G. Daisley and great granddaughter Stacia 
Daisley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006 at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive 
friends and relatives at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial 
service and burial will be held in Corning, New York at a later date.  Anyone 
wishing may make memorial contributions to Heartland Health Care of Ionia or 
Corning Area School System in Corning, N.Y.
