Hasting's Reminder - Saturday April 11, 2026

LOLA M. DAKIN (COOK) was born September 21, 1943, to April 4, 2026, age 82, of 
Hastings passed away on April 4, 2026 at Serenity Village of Barry County.

Lola was born in Hastings and grew up on the family farm in Sunfield before 
moving to Grass Lake in high school where she met her high school sweetheart 
David.

David and Lola married on June 17, 1961, and had 58 wonderful years until Dave's 
passing in 2019.

Lola worked in human resources throughout her life while raising a family. Lola 
loved to garden & read n her spare time.

Lola loved all animals but especially her dogs Windy, Mia & Jazmine who preceded 
her in death.
She leaves behind her children, sons, David (Monica) Dakin II Wade (Patti) 
Dakin; daughter, Valeria (Dennis) Dakin; special daughter, Rebecca (Tracy) Main-
Cone, eight grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 
siblings, Kendall (Nancy) Cook, Keith Cook, many in-laws nieces & nephews.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, David Dakin; her parents, Gaylord & 
Grace Cook; sister, Lavon Bliesener & granddaughter, Jalae Nicoed Dakin.

A memorial service for Lola will be  held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 
the Koops Funeral Home 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa with a time to visit with 
family from 1 pm until time of the services.
