Ionia Sentinel, May 1996

Ed “Tex” D. Dalstra, 61, of Ionia died Wednesday, May 29, 1996 at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1934 in Boston Township, the son of Fred and Addie 
(Johnson) Dalstra.  He graduated from Lowell High School in 1953.  He served in 
the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict form 1954-1956.  He attended the First 
Christian Church in Ionia.

He is survived by his mother Addie Dalstra-Toppen of Gowen; sons: Michael 
(Betsy) Dalstra of Baytown, Texas and Danny Dalstra of Houston, Texas; 
grandchildren: Jack, Jessica, Cassidy and Catlin; three sisters: Donna (Jim) 
Koledo of Gowen, Jean (Joe) Jordan of Vincetown, N.J., and Rosie (Paul) Burch 
of Holland; wife: Vivian Pearce-Dalstra and her children, grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian 
Church in Ionia with Rev. Martha Chenault and Rev. Jim Koledo officiating.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Area Hospice or to Ionia 
Helping Hands.
