Leona Anna Dalton, age 77, of Ionia formerly of Lowell passed away at home Nov. 
9, 2004.  She was born May 17, 1927 the daughter of Ernest and Adeline 
(Jorgenson) Slaght.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Ionia.

Leona is survived by her son Elmer (Bony) Dalton III of Ada; daughters Mary 
(Shane) Houghton of Ionia, Susanne (Craig) Schneider of Summerville SC; 
brothers Clarence Slaght of Muskegon, Edward Slaght of Muskegon, Rodney Slaght 
of Alanson; sisters Shirley Miller of Montrose, Sharon (Mark) Long of Alanson; 
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 
her husband Elmer Dalton Sr. and one brother Clifford.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church 
with Rev. Don Graham officiating.  Interment Saranac Cemetery.  The family will 
receive friends and relatives Saturday 11 a.m. until time of services at the 
church.  Those wishing may make a memorial contribution to Zion United 
Methodist Church, Ionia Area Hospice, or the Family of Leona Dalton.
