Ionia Sentinel, 2001

Fred Dalton, 47, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 19, 
2001, at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry.

Mr. Dalton was born May 20, 1954, in Ionia to Earnest Dalton and Waynetta 
(Castle) Dalton.

Mr. Dalton was a longtime resident of the Fenwick area.  He graduated from 
Central Montcalm High School in 1972, and from there went on to become a diesel 
mechanic at Consumers Concrete in Ionia.  Mr. Dalton loved to hunt, fish and 
spend time at home with his dogs and critters.

He is survived by his mother, Leah Dalton of Fenwick; one daughter, Hattie 
(Joel) Chase of Fenwick; one son, Zeke Dalton of Naples, Fla.; his soulmate 
Harriet Mosier and her children Lori Rogers of Parma and Cindi (Chris) 
Ellsworth of Newberry; three sisters: Freida (Ron) Bachman of Howell, Nola 
Shoup of Grand Rapids, and Mary Lynn (Tom) Barnwell of Stanton; three brothers: 
Keith (Pauline) Dalton of Fowler, Jack Dalton of Fenwick and David Dalton of 
Trufant; two step sisters: Judith (Lyle) Perrien of Ovid and Susan (Jerry) 
Snyder of Sheridan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dalton is preceded in death by his parents. 

In accordance with Mr. Dalton’s wishes, cremation has taken place, but a 
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 21, beginning at noon at the 
V.F.W. Post 5065 in Sheridan, where friends and family will gather to reflect 
on Mr. Dalton’s life and celebrate the good times he shared with everyone.  In 
lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial considerations to White Pine 
Library in Stanton.
