IONIA- Mildred C. Dalton, 96, formerly of Ionia, died Wednesday at Roselawn 
Care Center in Lansing.

She was born April 27, 1890, the daughter of August and Christine Peterson 
Jacobson.

She married Louis Marshall in Canada in 1912, and he preceded her in death in 
1929.

She married Ernest Dalton in 1947 and they made their home on a farm in the 
Palo area. He preceded her in death in 1955.

She worked 20 years as a matron for the Grand Trunk Railroad, and was a 
practical nurse for the O'Berry and Eckert Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Meth of Melvindale and Betty Rymasz of 
Detroit; one son, John Marshall of Phoenix; seven grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Ethel Hyger of California; and several nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Montgomery-Leddick Funeral 
Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.

Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery. 

There will be no visiting hours.
