Dalzell, 77 of 411 Harter Street died at her home at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, January 10 after an illness of several weeks. Lura Wilson Dalzell was born June 7, 1874, in Chester, Eaton County, the oldest of eight children born to R__ and Ida Wilson. The family came to Ionia in 1891. She graduated from high school in 1893 and taught school for three years. On November 28, 1896 she married Fred A. Dalzell who preceded her in death December 3, 1936. She was a member of the Methodist church and served in various capacities. She was a member of the church board and for sixteen years was president of the former Home Missionary society. She leaves one son, Wilson J. Dalzell of Ionia, three grandsons, and one sister Miss Lucile Wilson of Ionia. Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. Dr. Howard A. Smith will officiate. Entombment will be in Highland Park mausoleum. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Sentinel Standard – Monday, 14 January 1952 Services for Mrs. Jura Dalzell, 77, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton funeral home with Dr. Howard A. Smith officiating. Bearers were Murl Hiler, John Toutenhoofd, Geer H. Smith, Jerry Roberts, Elwood Brake Jr., and Arthur E. Brown. Interment was in Highland Park mausoleum. Attending from away were Mrs. Elnora Brewer, Mrs. Glenwood Dodgson, Mrs. Grace Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Bauhre, Joseph Ginsburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Roberts, Janie and Dick, of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Claude Warren and Lynn Warren of Dimondale; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Camp, Mrs. Alice Cronk, and Mrs. Ellen Stutes of Nashville; D. R. Mitchell, Hugh Hartley, James Digman, Bernard Prendergast, Carl Kline, and Jerry Donovan of Owosso; Mrs. Mildred Hicks, Mrs. Bernard Dalzell, Clive, Charles, Francis Kreuger of Muir; Mrs. Hugh E. Wilson and Mrs. J. M. Bammel of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell of Lansing; and Mrs. Grace Haight of Galesburg.
