The last letter which the parents received from their son about three weeks ago stated that he was in England and expected to get home in September. Burton, who was 18 last May, was married early in June to Miss Margaret Rathburn of Sunfield while he was home on service sick leave, following six weeks hospitalization after being wounded earlier in the Italian area. He had lived all his life in the Bishop district, and attended Sunfield high school. He is survived by his widow who is employed in Detroit, his parents, and five brothers, Veryl in California, Pvt. Virgil at Camp Swift, Tex., and Charles, Jr., Gerald, and Duane at home.
