Daniels, age 60, of Lake Odessa went to be with his Lord on September 9, 1998 at Sparrow Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born June 19, 1938 in Lake Odessa, the son of Oren and Beulah (Austin) Daniels. He married Judy Green on February 9, 1963. Larry lived in the Lake Odessa area all his life. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army from September 1957 to September 9, 1959. He was the President of Daniels Excavating for 33 years. He served on the Lakewood School Board for eight years and served on the Sebewa Township Board. He was a member of the Sunfield United Brethren in Christ Church and also served on the church board for several years. He was a member and served as President for two years of the Grand Valley Starlight Riders Snowmobile Club. Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Daniels; son, David Daniels of Lake Odessa; two daughters, Diane (Randy) Peterson of Jenison, and Julie (Mike) Johnson of Lake Villa, Illinois; grandchildren, Micah Peterson, and Kelsey Johnson; parents, Oren and Beulah Daniels of Lake Odessa; mother-in-law, Grace Green of Lowell; brothers, Dallas (Jane) Daniels, and Gary (Sharon) Daniels of Hastings; sister, Margene (Roger) Smiley of Houghton Lake; and many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Karen (John) Bush of Belding, Janet (Gary) Lance of Coppell, Texas; brother-in-law, Philip (Evelyn) Green of Lapeer; and special friend of the family, Sandy Johnson. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 12, 1998 at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa. Reverend Mark Ralph officiated. Interment took place at Sebewa Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunfield United Brethren in Christ Church.
