Death of Simon Danner, of Ronald. Simon Danner, of Ronald, died Dec. 16, after a brief illness, from la grippe. Deceased was born in Block house, Penn., March 25, 1836, and was left fatherless when an infant. His mother soon after moved to Ann Arbor, this state, where his boyhood days were spent, and from which place he enlisted in October, 1861, in the First U. S. Sharp Shooters. He was wounded July 14, 1862, in the Seven Days fight, and from the consequent disability received an honorable discharge. He came to North Plains soon after, and was there married to Christenia C. Heydlauff, Feb. 12, 1863, and then took up his residence on the farm in Ronald. Mr. Danner again enlisted March 2, 1865, this time in Co. D., Ninth Michigan infantry, serving until the close of the war, after which he returned to his Ronald farm, where he spent the remainder of his life. He leaves a wife and five children: F. W. Heydlauff, Mrs. A. S. Curtiss, Miss Nellie F., and E. S., of this county, and J. H., of Post Falls, Idaho. The funeral services took place at family residence in Ronald, and at the North Plains church, Sunday. The son from Idaho was unable to be present. The services were conducted by Rev. Geo. Ransom, of Muir, and Rev. D. H. Shelly, of this city. Deceased was an exemplary citizen, greatly respected by his neighbors, who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family. ----- Several people from the city attended the funeral of Simon Danner, at residence in Ronald, and church in North Plains, yesterday. The bearers, comrades of Borden post, were Judge A. M. Willett, Chas. A. Cornell, J. L. Fowle, Benj. Covert, Henry Barrows and N. L. Brookins. Judge Willet, Cornell and Barrows served as members of the Sharp Shooters, in same company with deceased.
