Danner Life-Long Resident Eighty-three Years Spent In Vicinity of Nickleplate; Same Farm 50 Years Pneumonia proved fatal to one of Ionia county’s pioneers Monday evening, when Mrs. C.C. Danner died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Cutler, at Nickleplace, following an illness of only four days. She was 83 years old and one of the commonwealth’s highly respected and beloved women. The funeral is expected to be held Saturday afternoon, but arrangements had not been completed Thursday morning, until word could be heard from two sons who reside in the west, and are enroute home. She was a life-long resident of the community in which she died and for more than fifty years had resided on the same farm, one-half mile east of the Steele road. Six years ago the sold the place to Mr. Johnson and moved to Muir, where she remained only a short time, going back to a little home she purchased, near Nickleplate, where she lived alone, apparently happy and contented, until stricken last Thursday. She was taken to the home of her daughter on Friday. She is survived by three sons, Emery Danner, president of Muir, John Danner of Yakima, Wash., and Fred Danner of Spokane, Washington; 1 daughter, Mrs. William Cutler; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
