The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, November 8, 1973


Earl A. Darby, 78, of 2913 North State road died Wednesday at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital.  He was born August 31, 1895 in Keene township the son of 
William and Grace Rowland Darby and lived most of his life in Ionia county.  
He was a veteran of World War I and operated a store and service station on 
north M-66 since 1929, retiring recently.  

In July of 1929 he was married at Toledo, Ohio, to Marie Nelsen and she died 
in March of 1972.  He is survived by a brother, Lyle Darby of Saranac.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  
Rev. Harold Johnson will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery.
