Belding Banner-News, 28 Apr 1938

The remains of Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Darling, who died at her home in Lansing
Friday night, at the age of 65 years, were brought to this city and interred in
the Belding cemetery, shortly after 1 o’clock, Monday afternoon.  Mrs. Darling
had been in ill health for several years but was stricken so seriously Thursday
that she was confined to her bed until her death.  With her husband she resided
in this city for a number of years, leaving here and moving to Lansing about 26
years ago.  The cause of her death was given as heart trouble.  Funeral services
were held at the home in Lansing Monday morning at 10 o’clock and there was a
prayer service here as the body was committed to the grave in the old cemetery,
where rest 3 children who died while Mrs. Darling was a resident here. 
Surviving are the husband, and a daughter, Mrs. Donald Croope, of Midland, who
have the sympathy of their many friends in their hour of sorrow.
