Lake Odessa Wave - March 13, 1969
          SERVICES HELD FOR MYRTLE DARLING
   Mrs. Myrtle Darling, 89, former local resident, passed away Thursday night at the
Detroit General Hospital, 
where she had been a patient since Tuesday.  She had been a patient at the Callahan
Nursing Home at Detroit 
since last July.
   A native of Petoskey, she was the daughter of William and Anna Mills and had been
a resident of the area for 
many years.  Her first husband, William Bippley, passed away a number of years ago. 
About 29 years ago she 
married Charles Darling of Lansing and they lived in the village and on the farm
before returning to Lake 
Odessa seven years ago.
   Mrs. Darling was a member of the Calvary United Brethren church, the WMA of the
church, and an honorary 
member of the Merry Social club.
   Surviving are a son, Edward Bippley of Detroit; a step daughter; Mrs. Donald
Croope of Midland; 8 
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel.  Rev.
Norman Wilbert officiated with 
burial in Lakeside cemetery.
