Died. Well Known Farmer Near Lake Odessa for Many Years. Funeral at the Home Thursday Morning. Ernest Dassell, a well-to-do farmer just over the line in Woodland township, died Tuesday afternoon at his home after several days’ illness. However, he had been in poor health for several years. Believing that he would not live long he made full arrangements for his funeral expenses by a contract with Wortley & Baine in 1933. He was a man of strictness and honesty in business and was frugal in all his habits. He was a member of the local Methodist church and always enjoyed music. His wife died in 1904 and his daughter Esther died about five years ago. He leaves a son Herbert who lived with him on the farm. He leaves a sister Mrs. M. M. McGeary of Denver, Colo. Mr. Dassell was 77 years old on the 31st of July and but for hard work would have been hearty to old age in all probability. The funeral will be held at the home Thursday morning and burial will be at Ionia beside his mother and father. Rev. F. J. Fitch, pastor of the Methodist church at Woodland will officiate and a song will be sung by William Chipchase of Ionia.
