Lake Odessa Wave - Friday  April 15, 1904
 
Mrs. Ernest Dassell died on Monday night at her home near Woodbury, of 
pneumonia, after a two weeks illness. Mrs.Eliza  Dassell has always been a 
resident of that part of the country and has many acquaintances and friends. She 
was 41 years of age at the time of her death. Besides a devoted and grief 
stricken husband, she leaves 2 children, a daughter 13 years old and a 12 months 
old baby. the funeral was held from the Evangelical church of East woodland on 
Thursday, April 14th, and her remains were interred in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. 
A.D. Kirn preached the sermon. Mrs. Dassell was the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs.George Smith of Woodbury. Her father and other, three brothers and three 
sisters survive her. She was born on the old Smith homestead at Woodbury, and 
lived there until her marriage to Mr.Dassell.
