Ronald D. Daugherty Sr., age 44 of Houghton Lake, formerly of Ionia, passed 
away on Wednesday, June 2, 1999 in Traverse City.  He was born in Plainwell on 
November 24, 1954 to Myron Daugherty and Betty Bemis.  He was an active member 
of the Amateur Softball Association.  He married Peggy Bennett March 1, 1975 
in Ionia.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother Betty Bemis of Houghton Lake; 
two sons, Ronnie Daugherty of Chicago, Ill. and LeRoy Daugherty of Houghton 
Lake; one daughter, Theresa Daugherty of Ionia; two brothers, Michael (Penny) 
Daugherty of Ionia and David Daugherty of Houghton Lake; two sisters, Penny 
Tucker of Houghton Lake and Sarah Daugherty of Houghton Lake; and one soon to 
be born granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment will be in Easton 
Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday from 2 
p.m. until 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Anyone 
wishing to make contributions to the American Heart Fund in care of the 
funeral home.
