Ionia Sentinel-Standard
Rachel M. Dausman, 86, of 197 Wyandotte Court, Saranac, died in Lowell Medical 
Care Facility Saturday.  She was born in Clarksville May 4, 1902, the daughter 
of Thaddeus and Eliza Wallington Mercer.  She lived all her life in the Saranac 
area and attended Saranac schools.  She was a past member of the Saranac Rebekah 
Lodge.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gregg (Janice) Grammie of Chicago and Mrs. 
Ronald (Margaret) Story of Ionia; two sons, Douglas G. Eddy of Saranac and 
Jamers A. Dawdy, also of Saranac; two stepsons, Leroy S. Dausman of Saranac and 
Lloyd Warren of Tennessee; a step-daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Graul of 
Saranac; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several step 
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm from the Lake Funeral Home, with the 
Rev. Stanley Hagemeyer officiating.  Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.  A 
Memorial has been established, in care of the funeral home for Saranac Public 
Library.
