The funeral was from St. Joseph church, with Rev. Fr. Zindler officiating. Anna Davarn was 85 years, one month and 17 days old at the time of her death. She was born in New York and when a child of two years moved with her parents to Bloomer township, Montcalm county. She was the oldest of the family of six children. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Whelan, who homesteaded property. She remained there caring for the family after the death of her mother in 1882. In 1896 she was married to William Davarn, Sr., of Pewamo and lived there until she was called by death Wednesday, May 22. Mr. Davarn passed away July 22, 1928. Mrs. Davarn was a member of St. Joseph church of Pewamo. She leaves to mourn, a sister, Mrs. Mary Moore, who has been her constant companion for the past ten years, and a cousin, Tressa Moyer, of Johannesburg, Mich., who when a child made her home for several years with Mrs. Davarn, also many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was kind to all who knew her and was liked by all, always having a heart for all who were ill or in need.
