Ionia Sentinel Standard, 4 Apr 1974

Mrs. Freda E. Davarn, 78, of 140 West Main street, died Monday at Ionia Manor.  
She was born September 26, 1895, in Kent county, the daughter of John and Elise 
Reusser Kropf, and had been a resident of Pewamo 48 years.  She was a member of 
St. Joseph Catholic church and altar society.

Surviving are: two sons, Jack and William Davarn, both of Pewamo; one daughter, 
Mrs. Jean Cook of Lansing; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one 
brother, Anton Kropf of Lowell, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Butler of Lowell and 
Mrs. Olive Wood of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services are to be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph church 
with burial in St. Joseph cemetery.  Rosary will be said at St. Mary’s Chapel 
in Westphalia 8 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday.  Arrangements are 
made by Neller Funeral Home.  Bearers will be James Cook, and Timothy, Patrick, 
Roger, Richard and Thomas Davarn.
