Ivan C. Davenport, Sr., age 76, of Saranac, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009.

He was born Aug. 13, 1932, the son of Nelson and Mabel (King) Davenport. He 
was born, raised and farmed in Keene Township in Saranac. Ivan married Delores 
Tucker Sept. 26, 1964 in Holton, Mich. He was a member of the Free Methodist 
Church in Belding.

Ivan is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Delores Davenport of Saranac; 
children Andy (Vicki) Davenport of Pennsylvania, Douglas C. (Pamela) Davenport 
of Saranac, Charles (Marsha) Davenport of Greenville, Dr. Marcia (James) Kent 
of Washington and Dr. Kenneth (Theresa) Davenport of Wisconsin; 13 
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law Irene Tucker of 
Saranac; brothers, Dr. Bruce (Mildred) Davenport of Charlotte and Dr. Edward 
(Shirley) Davenport of Parma and sister Ethelyn (Arthur) Rasmussen of 
Washington.  He was preceded in death by one son, Darrel and one granddaughter 
Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Belding Free Methodist Church at 
1 p.m. with Pastor Richard Fulkerson officiating. Interment will be at the 
Saranac Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday from 
2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  In lieu of flowers you 
may make memorial contributions to the Free Methodist World Missions through 
the Belding Free Methodist Church.
