Mr. Davenport resided on his father’s farm three miles east of the village but had gone to Lansing to work this winter. He was married three years ago to Miss Marie Ingalls of Danby and besides the widow is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wells Davenport, and one brother, Perry Davenport, of this vicinity. Portland Review, Tuesday, 21 January 1919 Leo Davenport, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wells Davenport, of Danby, died at Lansing Monday morning of pneumonia. He had been ill several days. Dr. J. D. Bradfield was called to Lansing on the case and found it a very serious one. Saturday the nurse reported his condition as being better and the family became more hopeful. The remains were taken to the home of his parents, Monday and at the hour the Review’s forms closed the date of the funeral had not been fixed. Leo was born in Danby, March 9, 1985 and married Miss Mary Ingalls about three years ago. Since last fall they have resided in Lansing, where Mr. Davenport had employment. Leo was a member of the Odd Fellows and a young man who was well liked by all.
