The Ionia County News, Thursday, February 6, 1930
James Davern, 63, of Pewamo, died Tuesday afternoon in the St. Johns Hospital 
where he had been ill for about six weeks.  The cause of death is given as 
pneumonia.  Mr. Davern had been engaged in the elevator business with his son 
for a number of years and was well known throughout surrounding territory.

He is survived by his wife, and three sons, William, Neville, and Roger and 
three daughters, Ardis Ludwig of Muir, Margie and Grace.
