Myrtle Susan Davids, 88, of Ionia, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 
2, 2014.  She was born on December 21, 1925 in Ionia, Michigan the daughter of 
Melbert Lee and Flossie Anna (White) Donnelly.  

Mrs. Davids was a good mother with a heart of gold, and an awesome grandma, who 
loved her grandchildren with all her heart.  Myrtle enjoyed many hobbies, 
including china painting, teaching ceramics and making quilts. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Vernon Van Buren; 
second husband, Merwood "Sam" Davids; grandson, Patrick Charles; siblings, 
Regina Harp and Melbert Donnelly.   Surviving are her children, Claudia (Rudy) 
Charles, Michelle (Gene) Droste, Linda (Larry) Rice, Vernon (Sheree) Van Buren, 
and Jack (Kathy) Van Buren; 11 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; step 
children, Doug (Belinda) Davids and Don (Sandy) Davids. 

The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Lehman 
Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia, with Pastor Greg Gladding presiding.  
Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetery, Portland.  The family will 
receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and from 12 p.m. 
until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
