Ionia County News - Thursday, June 20, 1935

James Davidson, father of Mrs. V. B. Wheaton of this city, passed away late 
Friday at the home of his daughters, the Misses Margaret, Anna and Jane 
Davidson at 55 Hague Avenue, Detroit, where he had recently gone after spending 
some five weeks here in the city with Mrs. Wheaton.

Mr. Davidson was born in Keith. Scotland, 86 years ago. He came to America when 
in his early twenties and engaged in the lumbering industry in Midland county, 
later becoming associated with the Dow Chemical company of Midland for some 25 
years. He retired about eight years ago, and had been a frequent visitor a the 
home of his children.

Surviving Mr. Davidson are his children, Mrs. O. V. Bowles of Saginaw, Mrs. 
John Walsh , of Midland, Mrs. V.B Wheaton, of Ionia, the three daughters in 
Detroit, and a son, James H. Davidson, also of Detroit, twelve grandchildren 
and eight great-grandchildren. Interment took place Tuesday at Midland.

Mrs. Wheaton and son Clare, were with Mr. Davidson in Detroit during his 
illness and returned home Tuesday after attending the funeral.
