Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Don Arthur Davis, 83, of Saranac, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2002 in Grand 
Rapids.  He was born on June 28, 1919 in Baca County, Colo., the son of Arthur 
Shelton and Golden (Weir) Davis.  He married Marcella Doty in 1944, who 
preceded him in death in 1989.  He was an Army World War II veteran.  He 
retired from General Motors in 1979 after 20 years.

He is survived by his sons, Robert L. (Patsy) Davis of Grand Rapids, Richard E. 
(Connie) Davis of Saranac and Douglas A. (Chris) Davis of Texas; sister, Ilene 
(Bob) Hanson of Washington; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death 
by his parents; one sister, Juanita Miller; and brother, Floyd Harmon.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday in the chapel at Grand Rapids 
Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Ave., Grand Rapids.  Arrangements were made by 
Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
