Alvin Davis, an old pioneer of Kent county and resident a few miles beyond
Smyrna for the past twenty years, died Wednesday morning of strangulated hernia,
aged 74 years.  He was an uncle of Hons. Benjamin and J.D. Morse and leaves a
wife and several grown up children.  He was a much respected citizen and will be
greatly missed by his neighbors and friends.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Otisco Cemetery.]
