Ionia Sentinel Standard, 13 Apr 1931

Rev. Verne Davis, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene died at the community
hospital Saturday night following an illness of appendicitis.  He was operated
on the middle of the week and it was found that the appendix had been ruptured.
 He seemed to be making a satisfactory recovery but became suddenly worse Friday
evening.

The body is at Boyton’s funeral chapel where friends may call to view the
remains.  Funeral services will be conducted at the I.H.A. mission by Rev. John
Young Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock.  Interment will be made at Sumner.

Surviving is the widow; a son, Merle, and a daughter, Lorella, at home.
