The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, May 20, 1969

Funeral services for Harriet M. Davis, 70, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at SS 
Peter and Paul church.  Mrs. Davis of route 1, Stage road, died Tuesday 
evening at Belding Community hospital where she had been a patient a week.  
Born in Rogers City September 24, 1898 she was the daughter of Joseph and 
Zelda Vasser Markey.

She attended school at Rogers City and moved to Belding where she worked in 
the silk mills.  In November 1919 she was married to Percy Davis at SS Peter 
and Paul church in Ionia and has made her home here since.  She was a member 
of SS Peter and Paul church and Rosary society.

Her husband Percy died in 1935.  Surviving are two sons, Harold of Ionia and 
Ronald of Lyons; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Hodgman of Ionia; two brothers, 
Ernest Markey of Detroit and Dory Markey of Rogers City; four sisters, Mrs. 
Voyle Storey of Stalward, Mrs. Anna Cole of Alpena, Mrs. James Selke and Mrs. 
Herman Walgast  both of Rogers City.

Rosary will be recited at Boynton-Leddick funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m.  
Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
