Carson City Gazette, Thurs., Jan. 6, 1944
Mrs. Mary Davis, a resident of this vicinity for many years, died at a 
convalescent home in Grand Rapids Dec. 29th at the age of 84. Burial was made in 
the Palo cemetery, Friday, December 31st, beside her husband John Davis, who 
passed away 53 years ago. Besides several nieces and nephews, she leaves one 
sister, Mrs. Cassius VanVleck.
