Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1932

Mrs. Jennie Sweet Davis, 84, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. George L. 
Shaw, of Muir, Saturday evening. Services were conducted at 10 o'clock Monday 
morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, the burial services following in 
Marshall, where interment took place Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Davis was the last of a family of 10 children. She was a native of 
Marshall, where her parents were pioneers. Two of her brothers, Frank and 
William, both now deceased, left Marshall and identified themselves with 
business interests in Carson City, and after the death of Mrs. Davis' father, 
the mother and daughter moved to Carson City to be near them. Mrs. Davis was 
selected to become one of the staff of teachers in the Carson City schools 
where she taught 15 years.

She had been ill two weeks of heart disease and Mr. Shaw went for her on Friday 
night and brought her to Mu9ir, she living until the following evening.

Nieces and nephews are her only survivors.
