Excerpts from Portland Obituary

Jerry Ronald Davis

Died May 9, 2022-age 78
Born February 16, 1944 son of Roland and Eleanor (Foster) Davis in Lansing,MI.
Jerry worked for GM for over 25 years.
He endured over half a lifetime of pain, which resulted from injuries received 
while serving our country in the U S Army.
Jerry loved hunting with his dad & brother in his younger days, working in his 
yard, traveling to the UP, being around strangers & friends.
He was proud of his 26 years of sobriety, also of being a part of the 1960 
Haslett Football team's induction into the Greater Lansing Area Hall of Fame.
Jerry cherished his wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry; & brother-in-law, Mike 
George, also his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Norman & Catherine Thelen.
Survived by his wife, Bernice; daughters, Tracy Davis & Heather (Josh) Higbee & 
Cindy; grandchildren Aleigha & Skyla; great-grandchildren, Coraline & Charlotte; 
sister Bonnie George; sisters & Brothers-in-law, Sylvia Davis, Jeanette & 
Francis Thelen, Geri & Tom Simon, Walt & Bernie Thelen, Mark & Dawn Thelen, Ev & 
Ann Thelen;& several nieces & Nephews.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a Homeless shelter, VA Homes for Veterans, 
or your favorite Charities in memory of Jerry.
A special thank you to Sparrow Home Hospice, especially Meghan & Christina, 
Caroline from Right at Home Lansing Office fo Veteran's Affairs, Lehman Funeral 
Homes, & Jerry's entire family for their support.
Visitation will be Thursday May 12, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Lehman Funeral Home, 
Portland.
