   Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

      Mary Elizabeth Davis

Died Saturday September 7, 2024-age 81 at Portland.
Born July 17, 1943 in North Kenova, Ohio, to Harvey & Clarabelle (Walden) 
Lykins.
Married Roger Davis on March 9, 1963, first living in Lansing, moved to 
Portland.
Mary worked at Michigan Bell, then Beekman Center, later Portland Review & 
Observer.
She Retired from EMC Insurance Company after several years.
Mary enjoyed crocheting & crafts, spending time with family & friends, hosting 
card parties at her home.
In Retirement, spending winters in Florida.
An active member of the First Baptist Church in Portland, worked in AWANA, 
church hostess & as church custodians with Roger for many years.
Mary Loved the Lord & was sure of her Salvation.
Survived by husband, Roger of Portland, sons, Mark(Laura)Davis of Portland, Jeff 
(Melanie)Davis of Pt. Charlotte, FL, sister, Alice Henke of Tenn., 
grandchildren, Mark Jr.(Heather) Davis, Nichols (Samantha) Davis,Sarah (Tyler) 
Smith, Katherine (Jacob) Nurenberg, J.J. (Whitney) Davis, Joshua (Anna) Davis & 
Matthew (Amy) Davis; 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents & 6 siblings.
Visitation 2 hours prior to service, 11 AM-1 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia, Jeff Davis will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Portland.
Immediately following funeral service, interment at Danby Cemetery.
Following graveside service, gathering at the First Baptist Church of Portland 
for Dinner.
