Dawdy, at Neller Funeral Home, Rev. Keith Avery officiating. Burial was in Portland cemetery. Bearers were Laban Smith, Jay Clark, Peter Trierweiler, Arthur Megarah, Sylvester Jenkins and Oliver Tschopp. Mrs. Dawdy passed away enroute to a Lansing hospital Sunday evening after having been taken ill suddenly. Surviving are the husband Roy, treasurer of the Village of Portland; a son Richard, of Portland; and four grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church, O.E.S. 258, Past Matrons Club and Ladies’ Literary Club, and had been an active worker in these organizations. Mrs. Dawdy was born in Charlevoix August 2, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelley, but most of her life had been spent in Portland. Her husband was in the clothing business for years, having retired recently.
