All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mlnransom@chartermi.net May 27, 2010, 7:05 pm The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 19, 1934 Glenn Allen Dawson, born in Saranac in May 1893, died at a Grand Rapids hospital Monday morning at 6 o’clock where he had been taken two weeks ago Saturday, March 3, for a sinus operation, making the ninth major operation he had had. Since the operation he had been in an oxygen tank because of a conjested right lung. Sunday morning he had a bad hemorrhage of the lungs from which he did not recover. Mr. Dawson attended the Saranac high school. In July 1918 he enlisted with the M.A.C. transport detachment, being discharged in September 1918, due to sickness from which he had never recovered. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, the order of Eastern Star, and of the American legion. He leaves besides his wife Florence, two sons, Jack and Philip; his father, Herman Dawson of Saranac; a sister, Mrs. Lena Kernan, 831 W. Lincoln avenue, and a brother, William Dawson of Grand Rapids. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
